NORTHSIDE BRASS — ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Northside Brass was started in 2010 by Artistic Director, Ryan Hobbs.  Ryan is a Chicago native having grown up in Geneva, IL. He has a Bachelors of Music Degree from DePaul University (2006), and a Masters of Music Degree from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee (2009). Along with Northside Brass, Ryan maintains a versatile schedule as a musician and has performed with the Millar Brass Ensemble, Tommy Dorsey Big Band, New Philharmonic Orchestra, Present Music Milwaukee, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, Racine Symphony Orchestra, and the Kenosha Symphony Orchestra.  He also performed in broadway show pit orchestras around Chicago including runs of Kiss me Kate, Guys and Dolls, and Cabaret. He has performed at the Merle Reskin Theatre, Circle Theatre, and the Bailiwick Theatre. Finally, Ryan is passionate about music education and maintains an active private teaching studio throughout the Chicagoland area.
